NEXT SESSION: Saturday 19 June 2010 and every second Saturday thereafter…
Banjo Nick at the Inn on the Green, Ladbrooke Grove, every second Saturday (bring an instrument, bring a tune). First session 5pm. http://www.innonthegreen.org/
Saturday 2nd January 2010 (my happy birthday):

In the mood to jam…see you later
Added 25th October.
Life is indeed full of suprises: I was not expecting Pauline Neville Jones to drop in on the balcony session. Thanks for showing Pauline, I thought you looked crisp and thoughtful in Cambridge blue cashmir. Did I even detect the tapping of a foot to Milo and me getting off?

Pauline Neville Jones, arms trader, former BBC Governor, former Chair Joint Intelligence Committe and chief persecutor of David Kelly is 3rd on the left. She speaks for the Tory Party. She looks like a sweet little grannie but she is a ruthless conscience-free arms-length killer with a very considerable fortune built from undercover destruction. She even gives seminars on the ‘glass ceiling’ to fake feminist businesswomen bullies and no doubt makes lovely home-made jam. Come on, Pauline, debate with me– and bring your bank statements. You have some tax to pay. Oxford academic too. We simply must nail the arms traders, like Trinity College, Cambridge and All Souls, Oxford or there is no future for this tiny world. It’s cruch time.

You should have hung around. I’m going to be well prepared for our head-to-head because you are no push-over.
And who else was there? Lovely Persian man who has built Macca a beautiful six string semi-accoustic bass with fret board of record-breaking length, Rasta dudes, plenty girls, black predominately… and the femme-fatale! Sylvie knows I’m the rambling type who ALWAYS comes back… so Banjo Nick ended the evening where he most likes to be.
Added 8th October: Should be a good one this coming Saturday, Milo on his beat-box.
Jamming today came up with this sweet marraige of J J Cale and Bob Dylan, in F sharp, goes something like this:http://nickwardscenarios.wordpress.com/jj-cale-meets-bob-dylan/
Added July 2 August:
Having met Adam I have every confidence that The Present revived by the Cock Tavern Theatre (which Adam set up in true go-getting Aussie style) is going to be full of excitement.

Great to meet you, Adam – have fun with it, mate – I was serious when I suggested that the best way forward for the theatre would be to scrap the ‘subsidy is an entirely good thing’ argument. At least while ‘managers’ get 80 % of it. High time we proved a point. Riverside? Riverside has the technical kit for ‘theatre -to-film’ – would be the perfect place for an expolration of this new form of delivery… perhaps hosting a few late Peter Gill productions along the way. Just like the old days, Peter. Peter can read the reviews and tell us what they say.

Another great evening on July 17th. Thanks for showing, Ben. Splendid Isolation is a grotesque play – not easy to see how it works from the page. I wrote most of it when I was 24 – my ‘Kurtz’ piece. I am astonished by the way I was playing with conventions.

Added 6 July: Thanks to everyone who took part in the balcony session on the 4th – it was storming good jamming – and thanks to everyone who came along. That’s my idea of a good night out.
Here I am cooking for the femme fatale and Luisa on the morning after. Go olive oil!

Sing your song (2009)
You can’t build a house on the river, you can’t build a house on the river
The water will rise
Like the tears in your eyes
You can’t build a house on the river
Sing your song
Sing your song
You’re gonna need a boat for the river
You’re gonna need a boat for the river
On the ebbing tide
You’re going to take a ride
In the boat of the man of the river
Sing your song
Sing your song
(Add some verses if you like, obviously)

Maestro!
I’ve been telling Ben Kid that the greatest regret of my artistic life was being persuaded by the NT Education Department not to take you LIVE for New York and US Tour of Apart from George in 89. We’d been at it for years. Should have known better. You made Apart from George. No question. love, Nick

Maestro, I have only ONE thing to say to you: bring that fiddle on down to the Inn coz nothing’s going to make me happier than hearing you scrape that bow and stamp it on down. I’m usually there chilling on the balcony by about three with first session kicking in around 5 – hellraising bongos and some sweet lead guitar last week. Hillbilly-rasta heaven, boy. Let’s do another show. The world is holding its breath – you know that.

I am a freind of your auntie Mag. Want to come to see you at Inn on the Green with Richard (you met at Catherine’s wedding) but not sure when you are on. Perhaps we could you meet you some other time?
